Oil exports via BTC pipeline declined this year

May 1, Fineko/abc.az. For comparison, in the 1st quarter of 2025, the pumping was around 54 million barrels, which means a decrease of 9.26% year-on-year.

From the moment of commissioning in June 2006 to the end of Q1 of 2026, a total of about 626 million tons (more than 4.7 billion barrels) were transported through the 1,768 km long BTC pipeline crude oil that was shipped to 6,210 tankers in Ceyhan and shipped to world markets.

Currently, BTC mainly transports oil from the Azeri–Chirag–Guneshli (ACG) field and condensate from Shah Deniz field. In addition, extra volumes of oil and condensate are being pumped from other sources in the Caspian region, including Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, as well as raw materials produced by SOCAR in Azerbaijan.
