February 20, Fineko/abc.az. According to International Monetary Fund’s forecasts, in 2026, Azerbaijan's total public debt will amount to 20.7% of GDP.

ABC.AZ informs that this indicator, according to IMF’s expectations, will remain at a stable level in the medium-term prospect.

According to the forecast, the national debt level will reach 20.9% of GDP in 2027, 20.7% in 2028, 20.4% in 2029, 19.9% in 2030, and 19.6% of GDP in 2031.

If to consider public debt taking into account government guarantees, its share in GDP in the forecast period will also remain stable: in 2026 - 25.3% of GDP, in 2027 - 24.4%, in 2028 - 23.6%, in 2029 - 22.9%, in 2030 - 21.9%, and in 2031 - 20.8% of GDP.
