Members of Tesla Board of Directors earn over $3 bn

December 16, Fineko/abc.az. The members of the Tesla Board of Directors earned more than $3 bn through stock options of the company.

ABC.AZ reports, citing Equilar analysis data, that the brother of CEO Elon Musk, Kimball, has earned approx. $1 bn since 2004, based on the growth in the value of executed and unfulfilled options.

Ira Ehrenpreis has received $869 million since 2007, and Robin Denholm, Chairman of the Board of Directors, has received $650 million since 2014.

At the same time, since 2020, members of the Board of Directors have not assigned themselves remuneration in the form of stock options. In 2021, the Board decided to suspend compensation payments to its members to settle a lawsuit alleging excessive payments.

In 2018-2020, the average compensation of a Tesla board member in the form of money and options was around $12 million, about 3-fold higher than at Alphabet, which ranks 2nd among the Magnificent 7 companies in this indicator.
