September 23, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan invests heavily in research and development of the agricultural sector.

ABC.AZ informs that Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov made the relevant statement at the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) in Baku.

According to the minister, the Ministry of Agriculture has several research institutes that develop various products. These products help find solutions appropriate to climate change and contribute to annual productivity improvements.

The minister stressed that agriculture in Azerbaijan is exempt from taxes.

"This is probably one of the most significant advantages we have. Agricultural equipment, machinery and irrigation systems imported to Azerbaijan are completely exempt from customs duties and VAT. This makes investments in agriculture very important and attractive. We are implementing several programs aimed at supporting our farmers," Mammadov said.
