September 22, Fineko/abc.az. Decrease in the cost of agricultural products produced in Azerbaijan for Jan-Aug 2025, compared with the 2024 same term, is linked with climate change, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov.
"Our policy in the last few years has been focused on fruit farming, which creates a lot of added value, and this year fruit exports grew more than by 40%. That is, decline in the agricultural sector will improve over time, we just need periodic transition," he said.
The minister added that the yield in wheat production has increased significantly.
Over Jan-Aug 2025, agricultural products worth 9.424 bn manats were produced (0.8% less versus Jan-Aug 2024).
The cost of crop production in the country fell by 2.5% to 4.776 bn manats, while the cost of livestock products increased by 1.1%, reaching 4.648 bn manats.
