September 11, Fineko/abc.az. Plans are underway to create 350 million cubic meters of water reserves in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, Ilham Bayramov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan (ADSEA), said during a panel discussion at the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference on Water Management.
ABC.AZ reports via AZERTAC that he said the design and estimate documentation for supplying water to 10 cities and 79 settlements in Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh has already been approved.
Bayramov reported that several reservoirs, including Khachinchay and Kondalanchay, have been restored. Construction is underway on the Zabukhchay reservoir and a 51-km main pipeline from Zabukhchay.
“In the same region, work is also ongoing on the construction of the Hakarichay and Bargushadchay reservoirs,” he added.
Bayramov emphasized that efforts are also focused on creating main water distribution lines from these reservoirs, as well as external water supply infrastructure and wastewater management systems for the rehabilitated cities.
