August 6, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, sustainability conditions can be added to the standard tender documentation for entrepreneurs.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of the Working Group on Commodity Market Efficiency & Competition of the Commission on Business Environment & International Ratings, held as part of the Roadmap for 2025 at the State Service for Antimonopoly & Consumer Market Control under the Presidential Administration.

The meeting was organized to discuss measures for digitalization and optimization of public procurement within the Roadmap for the Market Competition indicator of the Business Ready Project of the World Bank Group. 

The event, which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, of Finance, of Digital Development & Transport, of Labor & Social Protection of the Population, of Ecology & Natural Resources and other relevant governmental agencies, had broad exchange of views on the upcoming work in this area and the definition of appropriate implementation mechanisms for fulfilment of these works.

Elshan Hasanov, the head of Agency's Public Procurement Analytics Department, and representatives of other governmental agencies spoke at the meeting. The issues of facilitating the participation of business entities in public procurement, the use of preferential mechanisms provided for by law for this purpose, the possibility of organizing educational events related to gender equality, as well as participation of women entrepreneurs in public procurement, expanding the functionality of the e-procurement portal, including sustainability conditions in standard tender documentation, etc. were discussed.
