July 30, Fineko/abc.az. Currently, more than 15 companies with foreign capital are registered as residents in the industrial zones under the jurisdiction of the Azerbaijan Economic Zones Development Agency (IZIA), ABC.AZ reports, quoting IZIA press secretary Elchin Kazimov.
He pointed out that domestic and foreign entrepreneurs equally benefit from the investment opportunities created in industrial zones.
"Companies from such countries as Switzerland, the UAE, Thailand, China, Pakistan, Turkey, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, Russia, Iran and others operate in industrial districts in the production of ceramic tiles, base oils through the processing of motor and industrial oils, the production of potassium sulfate, electric meters, leather goods dishes, bio-active additives and medicines, cars and other products," he said.
Kazimov said that infrastructure work will begin in the Nakhchivan Industrial Park in the near future.
"By presidential decree from December 5, 2024, an industrial park with an area of 310 hectares was established in Nakhchivan. The priority areas of industrial park's activities have been outlined. Thus, the industrial park envisages production of food, chemical industry products, waste processing, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, production of building materials, machinery and equipment, furniture, textiles, clothing, paper and paper products, etc. Infrastructure works will begin in the industrial park in the near future. Applications from entrepreneurs will also be accepted.
The opening of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park will increase the level of employment, increase the range of local products, accelerate economic growth of the region, and effectively use raw materials," Kazimov emphasized.
