June 4, Fineko/abc.az. The European Commission has announced Bulgaria's readiness to switch to the euro from January 1, 2026.

ABC.AZ reports that in June, Bulgaria's admission to the eurozone must be approved by the leaders of the EU member states. In July, the finance ministers of the EU member states will set the exchange rate of the Bulgarian lev to the euro.

After Croatia joined the eurozone, country's citizens faced historically high inflation, with prices rising by 40%.
