May 8, Fineko/abc.az. The International Bank of Azerbaijan (ABB) has attracted 485 million manats within the framework of deposit auctions conducted through treasury balances of the Ministry of Finance.

ABC.AZ informs that ABB chairman of board Abbas Ibragimov said about this at a press conference dedicated to the financial stability report of the bank.

He added that these auctions were the first experience of this kind for the banking sector.

Touching upon the impact of the finances raised on interest rates on loans, Ibragimov noted that so far it is limited.

He added that due to the short-term nature of these deposits, it is difficult to predict their effect. Despite the fact that the amount of funds raised is small compared to the assets of the sector, they have positive effect on liquidity.

"The Central Bank is working to expand these auctions so that not only systemically important banks, but also other financial institutions can participate in them," Ibragimov added.
