May 8, Fineko/abc.az. Ukraine is considering the possibility of moving away from the US dollar as the currency of the main exchange rate reference in favor of the euro. This hypothetical scenario is explained by several factors.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny, that the country's potential accession to the European Union, the strengthening of the EU's role in ensuring Ukraine's defense capability, as well as "high volatility in world markets and the likelihood of fragmentation of global trade" force the NBU to reconsider whether the euro should be the base currency for the hryvnia instead of the dollar.

In a comment to a Western publication, Pyshny noted regarding such a possible change of the "main" currency that "this work is difficult and requires high-quality, versatile training".
