May 5, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Feb 2025, Azerbaijan imported 4,915 live sheep from foreign countries for $521,450.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that the figure is by $505,510, or 32.7-fold more, and in value terms by 4,745 sheep, or 28.9-fold more versus Jan-Feb 2024 when 170 sheep for $15,940 were imported.

The average import price for 1 sheep for 2 months of 2025 was $106 (180 manats), which is $12 (21 manats), or 13% more than a year earlier. For Jan-Feb 2024, the average import price for 1 sheep was $94 (159 manats).
