April 17, Fineko/abc.az. In total, approx. 40% of the territories in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts have been cleared of mines.

ABC.AZ informs, quoting Emin Huseynov, Azerbaijani president’s special representative for those districts, as saying this at the First Cultural Forum of the Islamic World in Shusha.

According to Huseynov, if considered separately, Aghdam district has been cleared of mines by 50% and Fuzuli district by 60%.

"The least territories have been cleared in Khojavend. But the work continues, as there are many historical and cultural sites in the area," he said.

Huseynov noted that work is underway in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend to restore and revive cultural and historical monuments: "We are following a five-step process in terms of the restructuring process in these areas. First, it all starts with the master plan and design. We have developed master plans for all major centers.”
