April 4, Fineko/abc.az. Billionaires lost a total of $208 billion because of U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs, Bloomberg reports.

ABC.AZ informs that all the losses occurred on Thursday, April 3. Speech is about the combined wealth of the 500 richest people in the world. It has been threatened by new US tariffs, which have sent global markets into a tailspin.

This drop is the fourth largest one-day decline in the 13-year history of the Bloomberg billionaires index and the most significant since the height of COVID-19 pandemic.

More than half of those tracked by the Bloomberg wealth index saw their condition deteriorate sharply, by an average of 3.3%. Billionaires in the U.S. suffered the most, primarily Mark Zuckerberg from Meta Platforms Inc. and Jeff Bezos from Amazon.com Inc. topping this list.
