January 28, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan plans to start producing shale oil (crude oil extracted from sedimentary rocks) in 2025, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.

"It is expected that the first Kazakh shale oil will be produced this year. This will create additional incentives to attract investment in the oil and gas industry," Bektenov said.
