China launches world's largest pumped storage station

January 10, Fineko/abc.az. The world's largest pumped storage power plant in China, Fengning, with installed capacity of 3.6 GW, is fully operational after the launch of the last unit.

ABC.AZ reports that this large-scale project worth $2.6 billion, located in Hebei Province, will generate 6.61 TWh of electricity annually, consuming 8.71 TWh for pumping water. The station will smooth out fluctuations in wind and solar energy generation, ensuring the stability of energy supply.
