January 6, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR Turkiye estimates investments in the creation of new petrochemical facilities (based on the Petkim petrochemical complex) in Turkey at the level of $7 billion.

ABC.AZ reports that the head of the SOCAR Turkiye business unit (representing SOCAR's interests in Turkey) for oil refining and petrochemistry, Kanan Mirzoyev, said this at a press conference in Istanbul today.

He added that as part of this project in 2025-2026, a detailed draft (FEED) will be prepared, which will require about $50 million in investments.

He added that after the FEED document is prepared, the latest investment decision will be made.

In 2008, SOCAR bought 51% of Petkim shares from the Privatization Authority of the Republic of Turkey for $2.4 bn and began its activities in this country.
