December 29, Fineko/abc.az. A marine station for underground gas storage has been launched in China. The storage facility is located on the shelf of the Yellow Sea. The gas is pumped to depth of about 3 km into rock formations from which oil and gas were previously extracted. The download takes place via a platform on an artificial island.

ABC.AZ informs that the storage facility holds more than 1.8 bcm of gas. It will provide heat to 3.5 million apartments and private homes in three major Chinese cities, including Beijing.
