September 5, Fineko/abc.az. From 5 September Azerbaijan has doubled customs duty on imported potatoes.

The Cabinet Ministers has amended today "The commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of Azerbaijan, rates of import customs duties & export customs duties".

The initiators of this amendment are the Ministries of Agriculture, of Finance, and of Economy and the State Customs Committee.

According to the amendment, from 5 September import of goods on code 0701 90 500 0 (young potatoes, from 1 January to 30 June) and 0701 90 900 0 (others) are taxed at a rate of 30% (previously rate: 15%).

This duty is valid until 31 October 2018.
