India's economy shows slowest quarterly growth since March 2023

11:57 - 29.11.2024

November 29, Fineko/abc.az. India's economy will grow by 6.5% in the 2nd fiscal quarter.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the forecast of economists surveyed by Reuters. If this figure proves to be accurate, the country will record the slowest quarterly year-on-year growth since the quarter ended in March 2023.

India's economy grew by 6.7% in the 1st fiscal quarter.

The 6.5% estimate is lower than the Reserve Bank of India's forecast of 7% made in October.

The Reserve Bank of India, after its October monetary policy meeting, said that the agricultural sector is expected to perform well in 2024, and also noted the steady dynamics of consumer spending and improved consumer and business confidence.

Agriculture accounts for more than 18% of India's GDP.
