October 29, Fineko/abc.az. The largest private investments were made in the project of Kulevi refinery in Georgia, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to the PM, the budget for the initial stage of refinery’s creation reaches $110 million, and the total cost of the refinery should reach $ 700 million.
The construction is being carried out by Black Sea Petroleum. The refinery, which at the first stage will process 1.2 million tons of oil a year, is scheduled to begin operations in March 2025. The plant will produce naphtha, diesel and fuel oil. In 2026, the refinery will increase its capacity up to 4 million tons. Gasoil and bitumen will join the list of petroleum products. In the future, the production of gasoline and jet fuel is also possible.
