Niger imposes a ban on export of a number of grain crops

October 18, Fineko/abc.az. Raw rice, ground rice, millet, sorghum, vigna and corn were banned from sale outside the country.

ABC.AZ reports that the purpose of introducing such restrictive measures is to ensure conditions for maintaining stable prices in the domestic market. For this, it is necessary to prevent a shortage of products caused by their export abroad.

At that, the ban does not apply to sales to the member countries of the Alliance of Sahel States concluded between Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

The Niger authorities also stated: "The government is considering appropriate measures to allow manufacturers to receive fair remuneration for their products."
