October 17, Fineko/abc.az. Brazil and Israel have started purchasing nitrogen fertilizers in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that since August 2024, Brazil has bought about 6,345 tons from Azerbaijan, and Israel — more than 3,497 tons of nitrogen fertilizers.

This is the value of exports in the amount of $5.688 million and $0.769 million, respectively. Both countries import this product from Azerbaijan for the first time in recent years.

In Azerbaijan, the SOCAR carbamide plant in Sumgait began producing carbamide starting in 2019. In the 3rd quarter of 2024 (in 9 months), the production of nitrogen fertilizers grew by 472,800 tons a year, a rise of 61%.

In 8 months of 2024, Azerbaijan exported a total of 361,640 tons of nitrogen fertilizers, including 196,630 tons sold to Ukraine.
