September 24, Fineko/abc.az. This year we will reach the level of self-sufficiency, producing more than 15 million tons of wheat, ABC.AZ reports, citing Sohrab Sohrabi, the head of the wheat & rice department of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad of Iran.

The data on wheat harvesting in the country was announced by the Iranian official responsible for this.

"As of this morning, 11.975 million tons of wheat have been guaranteed. The growth amounted to 1.634 million tons, or 16%, compared with the same term of last year," he said.

"The cost of purchased wheat reached 211 trillion tomans (54,885,947.00 manats). At the moment, producers have been paid 167 trillion tomans, or 80% of the value of wheat delivered to government centers," Sohrabi added.
