August 6, Fineko/abc.az. Russian supplies to the EU countries increased by 40.5% year-on-year for Jan-Jul. In absolute terms, they reached 9.26 bcm.
ABC.AZ reports that pumping through the pipeline to the EU exceeds the planned design level.
There are several reasons for this. Firstly, LNG supplies to Asia have increased sharply, and therefore spot prices are rising. Secondly, the abnormal heat in Europe forces countries to buy gas many times more. At a time when LNG is rising in price because of demand in Asia and supplies are required because of the heat in the EU, Russian gas is becoming the most attractive price for European countries.
