STAR refinery reduced production of diesel fuel

July 30, Fineko/abc.az. In May 2024, Türkiye-based SOCAR refinery STAR produced 444,122 tons of diesel fuel. And in May 2023, this figure was 590,643 tons, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Turkish Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

According to EPDK, this means a reduction in diesel fuel production at the refinery by about 25% year-on-year.

In May 2024, 973,110 tons of crude oil were delivered to STAR refinery, which means a drop in oil supplies to the plant by about 4.5% compared with to 1.018 million tons delivered in the same period of 2023.

STAR refinery with investment value of $6.3 billion was commissioned in October 2018. About $3.3 billion of the project cost was obtained through loans. It is expected that the total investment of STAR plant will amount to $7 billion.
