TotalEnergies reduced net profit by 7% for Q2

July 25, Fineko/abc.az. In the 2nd quarter of 2024, French oil & gas company TotalEnergies reduced its net profit by 7% year-on-year.

ABC.AZ reports that net profit for April-June 2024 amounted to $3.79 billion versus $4.09 billion for the 2023 same term. Analysts had expected an increase to $4.96 billion.

Adjusted profit decreased by 6% to $4.67 billion.

Revenue declined to $53.74 billion from $56.27 billion a year earlier.

In the 2nd quarter of 2024, TotalEnergies hydrocarbon production dropped by 1% to 2.441 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Including oil production fell by 7% to 1,318 million b/d and gas extraction increased by 6%.

In the 3rd quarter, the company plans production at the level of 2.4-2.45 million of oil equivalent per day.

The forecast of capex for 2024 has been kept at the level of $17-18 billion.
