June 25, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-May 2024, Azerbaijan imported 328,543 tons of wheat from abroad for $72.676 million.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that compared with Jan-May 2023, wheat imports in value terms decreased by $62.228 million or 46.1%, in quantitative terms - by 121,610 tons or 27%. And in the first 5 months of 2023, the country imported 450,153 tons of wheat for $134.94 million.

The average import price per 1 kg of wheat for the five months of 2024 amounted to 0.38 manats, which means a decrease of 0.13 manats (26.2%) compared to the same period last year.

Over Jan-May 2023, the average import price of wheat reached 0.51 manats.
