June 6, Fineko/abc.az. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) together with BP and Azerbaijan Investment Company expects to finish the construction project of the Shafag Solar Power Plant with capacity of 240 MW in Jabrayil district of Azerbaijan until the end of 2025.
ABC.AZ reports that SOCAR's vice-president Ziba Mustafayeva said about thi on the second day of the Baku Energy Forum.
"We, together with BP and the Azerbaijani Investment Company, are engaged in the implementation of a solar power plant construction project. It will be completed by the end of 2025," she said.
According to Mustafayeva, SOCAR as a whole is actively engaged in issues of energy transition, energy efficiency, decarbonization and sustainable development.
"In addition, we are implementing projects to reduce methane emissions. Next in line are projects on geothermal energy and "blue hydrogen". An agreement has been signed with Masdar on the construction of 3 stations in the field of renewable energy sources," the vice president noted.
