June 4, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of 2027, we will receive 2 gigawatts of renewable energy resources. This is a very real figure, and this is just the beginning.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev said about this on June 4 during his speech at the opening ceremony at the Baku Expo Center of the 29th International Exhibition "Oil & Gas of the Caspian Sea" and the 12th Caspian International Exhibition "Energy & Green Energy" - Caspian Power within the Baku Energy Week.

Stressing that the liberated Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur regions have huge hydropower potential, the head of state noted:

"After the liberation of these territories in November 2020, we have already commissioned 270 MW hydroelectric power plants. Within three to five years, we will bring this figure to 500 MW. That is, 1 gigawatt of renewable energy will allow us to save 500 million cu m of gas, which the market needs and will need."
