Growth reported on Azerbaijan's non-oil exports

January 22, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's non-oil exports in the first 11 months of 2023 increased by 10.5 percent against Jan-Nov 2022 up to $3.033 billion. 33.1% of non-energy exports accounted for Russia, 24% for Türkiye, 9.9% for Georgia, 5.1% for Switzerland, 3% for Kazakhstan, 2.5% for Turkmenistan, 2.4% for Ukraine, 2% for the UAE.

ABC.AZ reports that Vugar Bayramov, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship, wrote about this on his social network account.

He noted that during this period there was an increase in exports of a number of non-oil products.

Thus, the export growth of fruits made up 22%, fresh vegetables – 4.2%, fruit and vegetable juices – 38.7%, canned fruit and vegetables – 23%, natural grape wines and grape must – 13.7%, margarine, other food mixtures – 40.3%, polypropylene – 73.6%, polyethylene – 32.6%, cement clinker – by 17.6%, cotton yarn – by 35.6%, bentonite clay – by 2.6%.

Along with all this, there was decrease on some of our exports. The decline of potato exports was 9%, sugar – 30.5%, vegetable oils – 28.7%, tea – 62.2%, tobacco – 63.4%, cotton fiber – 9.1%, unprocessed aluminum – 19.6%, mineral fertilizers – 9.6%, ferrous metal rods – 18.6%, pipes from ferrous metals – 15.1%, semi-finished products from ferrous metals - 57.9%.

It is obvious that sharper reduction was recorded on tea and tobacco exports. The drop in exports of these products exceeds 60%.

Economic priorities include increasing non-oil exports and diversifying the export structure. In this regard, economic diversification and the elimination of oil dependence are also the main economic goals for 2024," Bayramov added.
