January 11, Fineko/abc.az. Renewable energy production could grow 2.5-fold by 2030, according to COP28 Climate Conference.
ABC.AZ reports that for this, governments need to increase investments in clean energy. This forecast is contained in International Energy Agency’s reports on the production of renewable energy sources for 2024.
The report notes that last year, compared with 2022, 510 gigawatts of renewable energy sources were put into circulation in the world, of which 75 percent was provided by solar energy. The most advanced country in this area is China, while record levels have been achieved in the European Union, the United States and Brazil. By 2028, the volume of renewable energy production in the world will reach 7,330 gigawatts, and by 2030 – 11,000 gigawatts. Solar and wind energy will account for 95% of clean energy production, and these resources will surpass coal, which is the largest material for electricity generation.
