Oil price goes down, and Brent is at $77.81 a barrel

January 8, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are declining in Monday’s trading after a steady rise on Friday and following the past week.

The price of March’s Brent crude futures at the London ICE Futures exchange fell by $0.95 (1.21%) to $77.81 per barrel by 09:25. Following the trading on January 5, Brent crude futures for March rose by $1.17 (1.51%) to $78.76 per barrel.

The price of WTI oil futures for February on the electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) dropped by $0.97 (1.31%) to $72.84 per barrel by 09:25. Following the trading on January 5, the price of February’s WTI oil futures grew by $1.62 (2.24%) up to $73.81 per barrel.

Over the past week, Brent crude oil has risen by 2.23% and WTI oil by 3%.
