December 18, Fineko/abc.az. Egg prices in Russia will begin to decline after the New Year, and deliveries from Azerbaijan will begin next week, ABC.AZ quotes Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev.

"I really hope that egg prices will start to decrease after the New Year," Patrushev said.

He added that eggs are a seasonal product, and at this time their prices are always rising.

"So far we see a trend that, let's say, is not very comfortable for us: prices continue to rise gradually," the minister said.

At that, he said that the Ministry of Agriculture is taking measures aimed at curbing price increases. In particular, eggs from Azerbaijan will start arriving in the coming week.

"In just two or three weeks, eggs will be shipped from Türkiye without the appropriate import duty, which will allow us to adjust the price," he said, noting that the process of removing import duties on eggs has almost ended.

"This will saturate the market and give that additional volume, which, hopefully, will affect the price for consumers," Patrushev said.
