December 15, Fineko/abc.az. Citrus orchards are intensively planted in Masalli, which is mainly a vegetable-growing area.
ABC.AZ reports that farmer Rafet Abbasov, a resident of Sharafa village, this year decided to set up a citrus orchard on an area of 6 hectares.
The laying of the garden is carried out in full compliance with the planting rules and all agrotechnical rules.
"This year I decided to take advantage of the support provided by the state. Due to subsidies to support citrus crops, mainly tangerine orchards, I am dividing the garden into 6 hectares, we also received advice from experts. We take a soil analysis in advance, install a drip irrigation system, that is, we carry out planting in an intensive way. Each hectare is planted with 650 tangerine trees. In total, about 4,000 trees have been planted in the field," the farmer said.
In order for the seedlings to be resistant to pests and diseases, they are planted by soaking the root part in a specially prepared medicinal solution. This ensures the healthy development of the plant. Before sowing, an agrochemical analysis of the soil was carried out, its need for nutrients and elements was studied.
During the harvest period, one tree will yield 200-300 kg of harvest per season. The product is intended for both the domestic and foreign markets.
In recent years, about 100 hectares of intensive citrus orchards have been laid in Masalli. The main reason for this is the support of the state in this area.
