December 7, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, the Agrarian Insurance Fund, which insures farms in the agricultural sector, increases compensation payments for losses to insured farmers and farms as a result of various events.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Fund that for Jan-Nov 2023, the AIF paid 2.74 million manats to farmers and farms for compensation for insured events.

Payments to farms also cover losses incurred by both crop production and animal husbandry.

According to the AIF, 2.044 million manats were paid for insurance claims related to crop production, 698,000 manats for livestock production.

In 2021, the AIF paid 1.7 million manats to farmers for losses, and in 2022 - 2.3 million manats. In other words, the payments made in 11 months of 2023 are more than in previous years. It is linked with an increase in the number of users of agricultural insurance in the country, as well as increase in unstable weather conditions and natural phenomena.
