October 16, Fineko/abc.az. The increase in gas prices in Europe is associated with the beginning of a new season, as well as with the inability to import targeted natural gas from potential sources on the continent.
ABC.AZ reports that this opinion was expressed by Milli Majlis MP Vugar Bayramov.
The MP noted that the demand for blue gas is high both in industry and in everyday life: "Given the use of "blue fuel" in heating systems, there has been an increase in demand in Europe since October. But there is no sharp increase in natural gas imported to Europe amid growing demand. Although this year Azerbaijan will bring gas it supplies to Europe to 12 bcm (last year this figure was 11.4 bcm)."
The MP says that with all this, given that the demand or consumption of natural gas in Europe is quite high, the gap between supply and demand remains in the European market of "blue fuel": "It is this difference that affects the price of "blue fuel". Of course, Azerbaijan sells natural gas to Europe, and the price increase is important from the point of view of the growth of our state revenues. This allows us to receive more income from imports in this direction."
