Microsoft and Paige create AI for cancer diagnosis

September 12, Fineko/abc.az. Microsoft has announced partnership with Paige, a digital pathology company, to create the world's largest artificial intelligence model for cancer detection.

ABC.AZ reports that a Paige representative stated that the amount of data used in the model is orders of magnitude larger than any models created by Google or Meta.

Paige stressed that a model capable of processing millions of digital histological sections is needed to help pathologists and oncologists. Paige has been helping digitalize millions of slices for cancer identification for 7 years.

However, Paige needed additional computing power to work with such volumes of data. Therefore, the company began to cooperate with Microsoft – the resources and computing power of the corporation, including thousands of GPUs, will allow Paige to create the necessary model.

Paige describes the created model as "ChatGPT for the microscopic world". The amount of data used to create AI is 10 times more than the entire Netflix content, Paige added.
