May 17, Fineko/abc.az. The proportion of women entrepreneurs is growing in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that Orkhan Mammadov, chairman of board  of the Agency for Development of Small & Medium-sized Businesses (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy, said about this at Baku conference SHE Congress Baku, 2023.

"Today we have a significant number of women starting their own business. If in 2018 the proportion of women among individual entrepreneurs was about 19%, then according to statistics for April 2023 this figure approached 25%. In addition, there are enough women among the founders and administrators of legal entities. Currently, 49% of the economically active population of our country are women," he said.
