April 13, Fineko/abc.az. The proportion of farmers who have received land extracts in Azerbaijan has increased to 43%, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Firdovsi Fikretzade, the director of the Agricultural Research Center (under Agriculture Ministry).

"When the electronic agricultural information system (EKTIS) was created, this figure was 23%," he noted.

According to Ministry’s representative, as one of the most important conditions for transparency in the provision of subsidies, as well as in general to ensure the right of farmers to land ownership on the basis of relevant presidential decrees, farmers who do not have documents for the right to use shared land, extracts from 2021 are provided without state duty and service fees. The process of updating for the application of a single land document has begun.

According to the "Rules for subsidizing agricultural production" approved by Presidential Decree from 27 June 2019, since 2020 subsidies to farmers in crop and livestock production are provided only through EKTIS: "This creates conditions for obtaining and systematizing more detailed information about farmers. Thus, data on the number of farmers who have declared their crops by districts and villages, the declared area, the profile of farms, as well as subsidies for crops and animals are structured and analyzed," Fikretzade said.
