April 10, Fineko/abc.az. The current deficit in the Turkish economy in February exceeded expectations and reached $8.78 bn. In February, the 12-month current account deficit was $55.4 bn. Thus, the 12-month current account deficit has reached its highest level in the last 10 years.
ABC.AZ reports that economists surveyed by authoritative Bloomberg expected that in February the current account would have deficit of $8.45 bn.
In February, the foreign trade deficit in Türkiye grew by 51.4% compared with the previous year and reached $12.1 bn.
This February, the current account, excluding gold and energy, produced surplus of $834 million.
