March 16, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 March 2023, Azerbaijan numbered 1,420,834 active taxpayers (5.1% more than on 1 March 2022), ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.

Of them, individuals make up 87.3% of taxpayers, while legal entities and organizations - 12.7%.

As of the end of February, 90.2% of state-registered commercial legal entities are limited liability companies (LLC), 1.4% are joint-stock companies (JSC), 1.1% are cooperatives, etc.

Over January-February, 82.5% of commercial organizations were registered electronically. The share of LLCs with local capital among those who passed e-registration was 95.1%.

87.6% of the registered commercial organizations are companies with local capital and 12.4% - with foreign capital. Through the new registration method (FIN-code and mobile phone number), 341 LLCs with local capital were registered.
