March 13, Fineko/abc.az. According to the tax legislation of Azerbaijan, with the exception of a number of exceptions, persons whose volume of taxable transactions exceeds 200,000 manats in any month (months) of a 12-month period in a row do not have the right to be payers of simplified taxation. The State Tax Service plans to further reduce the limit of 200,000 manats.

ABC.AZ reports that at the summit on taxes and accounting, Elvin Mammadli, the head of the Department for Work with Business Associations & Associations at the STS Main Tax Policy Department, replied a question from a representative of one of the distribution companies.

"The desire to purchase goods without documents arises mainly from simplified taxpayers. Income tax or profit tax payers are interested in formalizing their expenses. But most simplified tax payers hide their purchase in order to hide the proceeds as well. The view of the tax authority for the medium—term period is that the simplified tax regime is a temporary regime introduced during the transition period. It is planned to reduce the limit associated with VAT registration by the State Tax Service. This measure will prevent certain cases that you mentioned. Practice shows that the majority of simplified tax payers violate accounting."
