February 22, Fineko/abc.az. France’s TotalEnergies confirmed the start of gas production at the Absheron field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea in 2023, hoping to increase production of hydrocarbons in 2023, including through the launch of this project.
ABC.AZ reports that TotalEnergies expects an increase in hydrocarbon production by about 2% in 2023 due to the launch of three projects in Oman, Brazil and Absheron in Azerbaijan.
According to TotalEnergies, the production capacity of the Absheron field will be 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
In November 2022, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that gas production at the Absheron field in the Caspian Sea is scheduled to begin in 2023.
