11:24 - 15.02.2023

February 15, Fineko/abc.az. The export potential of Ukrainian farmers in 2023 will be reduced 3-fold to the level of 2021, which will allow selling no more than 20 million tons of grain on the foreign market, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Roman Slastin, the head of the Ukrainian Agricultural Business Club.

"Our export potential will conditionally fall by three times. If in 2021 we expected we could export more than 60 million tons of grain, that of this harvest will be within 20 million tons, no more," Slastin said.

According to forecasts, the harvest is expected to reach 34 million tons in 2023.

Slastin noted that farmers are reducing the area of crops because of lack of finances for purchase of fertilizers, in 2023 their use will fall by 60% compared with 2021.
