February 7, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese biologists have cloned a highly productive breed of cow for the first time.
ABC.AZ reports that Chinese biologists have cloned for the first time a highly productive Holstein breed of cow, which can produce 18 tons of milk a year.
Scientists used the somatic cell nuclei transfer method for this. Biologists used animal ear tissue.
As a result of the experiment, three cloned calves were born. The first calf weighing 56.7 kg was a complete copy of the selected animal. Biologists believe that such a "super cow" can produce more than 100 tons of milk in a lifetime.
