January 6, Fineko/abc.az. There are currently 982 non-gasified villages in the country.

ABC.AZ reports that Khaligverdi Huseynov, the head of the Forest Development Service of the Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources, stated about this at a press conference devoted to the results of the year.

He noted that of this number, 426 villages are problematic: “Because these villages are located right on the border of forests, and 96% of them use firewood for heating.”

Huseynov added that 71,000 cu m of firewood were prepared by the Ministry last year, 37,000 cu m of them were sold to citizens.
