October 20, Fineko/abc.az. The commissioning of Shafag solar power plant with capacity of 240 MW in Jabrayil district of Azerbaijan is scheduled for 2024, ABC.AZ reports, citing Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.

"Negotiations are currently underway with British company BP on the construction of Shafag solar power plant in Jabrayil with capacity of approx. 240 MW, which is expected to generate 500 kWh of electricity annually. It is expected that engineering, design and financial issues on the project will be resolved by the end of 2022, the construction of the station will begin in 2023, and its commissioning will take place in 2024," Shahbazov emphasized.
