US strategic oil reserves drop sharply

August 30, Fineko/abc.az. US strategic oil reserves fell by 3.1 million barrels over the week, ABC.AZ reports citing the US Department of Energy.

Crude oil inventories in the country's strategic oil reserves dropped by 450 million barrels, the lowest level since December 1984.

The US administration is taking various measures to reduce gasoline prices, citing increase in gasoline prices is a significant part of the growing inflation.

In March of this year, US President Joe Biden allowed the sale of 1 million barrels of oil daily from the country's strategic reserves for 6 months - a total of more than 180 million barrels.
