December 30, Fineko/abc.az. The number of payment cards in Azerbaijan reached 7.5 million, cash machines – 2,600, and POS-terminals – 65,200.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the statement of the Central Bank that 18.1% of payment cards are contactless.

Compared with last year, the number of cash machines increased by 2.2% and contactless POS-terminals by 35%. The volume of non-cash payments on payment cards grew by 57%, including electronic trading operations by 93%. Over the past five years the share of non-cash card payments has increased from 8% up to 20%.
